High View of God- Accurate View of Self
Series: The Gospel of Luke
Summary
This morning's message is appropriate for the first Sunday of a new year. Each of us is vulnerable to the point of spiritual drift where we find ourselves having a low view of God and a high view of ourselves. One of the hallmarks of genuine Christianity is that we will strive, by the Holy Spirit, to have a high view of God and an accurate view of ourselves.
Key Ideas:
- The Perspective and Prayer of the Pharisee (v. 11-12)
- The Perspective and Prayer of the Tax Collector (Vs.13)
Are you aware of how you approach the Almighty?
Did you come here today seeking the mercy of God?
Confidence in your own self-righteousness is a damning hope because human righteousness falls short of the divine standard. Will you give your life to Christ this very morning? Trust Him and His righteousness to justify you before God.
Pastor’s Points:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you for being present on this very special Lord’s Day worship. What a great way to begin a new year by being in the Lord’s house for worship. God Bless you!
